THE 2018 KENYA CLIMATE CHANGE AND ART ESSAY COMPETITION

The Inaugural Kenya Climate Change Art and Essay competition is open to learners in Public, Private and APBET (Alternative Provision of Basic Education and Training) primary and Secondary Schools in Nairobi from ages of 6 to 19.The competition calls upon students to participate by showcasing their creativity and artistic talent, this will run for a period of one month up to 30th August 2018. Nairobi County schools have been selected to be the first to participate in this phase of the competition. However, this will be rolled out in all counties thereafter. The official award ceremony will be held in September 2018 where the best pieces of artwork will be displayed and Essays will be awarded. Deadline for artwork submission is 30th August 2018

THEME: Climate Change: Dream, Express, Act / Ota, Jieleze, Tenda

Interested participants can view and download the entry form below ,more details on how to participate in the competition can also be found on their various school websites. Head teachers and Principals will collect all the submitted work and forward those to respective sub county Director of Education offices. Participants are also urged to utilize the National Climate Change Resource Centre which also hosts the Kenya Climate Change Knowledge Portal (www.kcckp.go.ke). The portal has a section dedicated for children and youth.
